A very Merry Christmas from us to you !!!

Yellowstone.  Labor Day weekend, 2010.  Our trip down from Glacier National Park took us through Missoula, Butte, the Anaconda Trail, Philipsburg and onto Bozeman then over to the north gate of Yellowstone.  A whirlwind trip. Not much time to see each place, but we did get to see them!  This apocaliptic photo was taken at Mammoth Hot Springs inside the park.  It was cold and dreary which made for a really interesting shot.

This fellow was just taking his sweet time on the highway heading north... there was a traffic jam about a mile long following him... too funny.  I imagine he was thinking something clever like "yeah, this is MY park, MY road.... you all can just wait until I find my OWN exit!"

It started to snow about 5:30... we found this guy relaxing and "chillin"... literally!  I snuck in as close as I dared without disturbing him and got a few shots... they are very good, but you can tell it is a buffalo, right?  LOL

This sign was at each geyser area... Roger and I really laughed hard each time we saw it.  The little boy looks to be jumping in while the girl stands and points with shock....  Little Timmy is no more.....  hahahahaa!

Old Faithful... the sun was beginning to set and we missed the geyser going off... we couldn't wait until the next eruption, but the sky was perfect, so we settled for this one.

Didn't see any bear, but did see alot of buffalo this trip!  Roger was freaking out thinking I was too close, but I really wasn't.  I have a 300mm zoom on this fella!

The next day was beautiful and we were headed back home.  This was near Montpelier, Idaho.  I could live here.  The wheat was ready to harvest, and I thought it would make a lovely shot.  I was right!

This is the Oregon Trail museum... a MUST SEE if you are ever in Montpelier, Idaho.  Take the time to go back in time and see what pioneers went through.. makes living in 2010 seem so much easier!!!!

Found this roadside signage tucked back off the highway... interesting read!

This is the Logan, Utah temple.  Built by the mormon pioneers, these temples are an example of the craftsmanship that cannot be duplicated nowadays.
The trip we took was only 4 days, but we really made the most of them. We saw nature at its finest, wildlife, farms, mining towns, SNOW in August, a little pioneer heritage, and most of all the smiles on each of our faces as we enjoyed spending time together.  Now, isn't that what it's all about??
:O)

A drive up the canyon

Fall is officially here and it is time to take a drive up the canyon!  Actually, this is a combination of several drives, but I am just now getting around to posting the pics...

On the Alpine Loop

This little guy has his cheeks full. ( Maple Canyon, Sanpete Co.)

This is up Scofield canyon.. nice drive, but not alot of hardwoods ... lots and lots of aspen to be seen, though!

Still some thistle to see....

I didn't realize until today that aspen can be orange or red!

coming down Fairview canyon...

Fountain Green... near the cemetery... we found alot of deer. They were small and so cute!  Just look at those ears!!!
We have had some really nice drives... hope y'all are taking the time to dead up the canyon and look at the fall color before it's covered in snow!

Glacier National Park

Roger and I took a trip up to Glacier National Park on Labor Day weekend.  It has been a place we had talked about seeing, but hadn't really planned on going.  The doctor I work with had taken a trip up to visit with his grandparents in Canada and had talked about how beautiful it was and encouraged us to go up.  He has been up there several times and knows alot about the area, so I told Roger and we decided to just do it.

Well, I have tried and tried to get this BLEEPING blog to cooperate with me, and can't seem to get the pictures to stay in order while I freeeaking blog, so I will just let them stay where they are and not comment at all !!!!!   FREEEAAK!  ( pulling out my hair and screaming)
We saw the bear (close up) near the end...it is supposed to be in the spot my stupid picture is.  The sunset was the first damned picture I took and all the rest are out of order too.  It is nearly midnight and I have been working on this for over an hour and I am tired.
Goodnite.

Day trips rock!

Took a day and went down "south" to Kolob Canyon and Cedar Breaks in southern Utah a few weeks ago and I am just now getting around to posting the pics from the trip!
It was such a nice day to take a drive, and we took the t-tops off the firebird to enjoy a little sunshine along the way.
As you can see, the sky was a perfect blue, the rock in Kolob is a nice deep red and the trees are the perfect green to create such a gorgeous day!
I love how the trees can grow right out of the side of the sandstone... look at the roots of this one!

... and this rock reminded me of a lizard!

There are many flowers to see along the canyon road... bless Roger's heart, he let me get out and take pics of any and all I desired!

He even stopped so I could take a picture of a silly rock!   But just look how it broke off the original one... can you imagine what it must be like to see here in the canyon with one of the larger mountains??  Awesome to think about, isn't it?
The next few are just some more of the drive along the canyon road.  Hard to capture the beauty of this place.  I really tried, but it isn't easy.
Here is our proof we were there!
Off to Cedar Breaks!  It is on the way to Brian Head... a ski resort in south-central Utah up in the Dixie National Forest. ( If you are at all interested)  LOL

Stopped to take a pic of the Aspen Trees... oh, and Roger, too! :O)
Lots of things to see on the way....   a little waterfall !

We're here!  Yay!  This is the first view we see.....
Amazing, isn't it?  I am so in awe of what we constantly find hidden here in our own backyard! Our Father in Heaven has given us so many beautiful things to enjoy here on earth, hasn't He?  Here... enjoy some more!
Couldn't resist a couple more of ourselves to say "We were HERE!"
What a wonderful day it was !
Parting shot..... more flowers on the side of the freeway going home!
